Parent/Child Class

Rockville Community Nursery School offers a Parent/Child 2s class: the perfect class for toddlers not quite ready for independent preschool but seeking out a learning and social activity that builds parent/child/teacher relationships in a secure and nurturing environment.

The Parent/Child class is offered 9:30-11:30 on Friday mornings.

Join your toddler one morning a week to explore a wide range of enriching, hands-on activities. Discover how to transform everyday situations into learning activities.

Learn about child development in a way that can help both you and your child make the most of the marvelous and challenging toddler years with the guidance of our gentle and knowledgeable teacher. Science, art, sensory exploration, music, language and social development converge as we learn through play.

This small class is perfect for children whose 2nd birthday falls between June 2024 and January 2025. The age requirement is somewhat flexible in consultation among parent, teacher and director. Parents of children who turned 2 on or before September 1, 2024 may also be interested in our regular 2s class, a three day a week independent child class in which parents take turns co-oping (i.e. helping in the classroom).

Parents will find this lovely introduction to our cooperative preschool to be a far richer and more consistent learning experience for both child and parent than the typical “Mommy & Me” toddler playgroup or gym class. Please see our Parent Experience page for more information.
