School Calendar

School Closure Policies

We follow Montgomery County Public Schools for school closings. MCPS closings are announced on their website and on local radio and TV stations. It is the parents’ responsibility to be aware of closings/cancellations. RCNS inclement weather policy is as follows:

  • No school when MCPS is closed.
  • When MCPS has a delayed opening, RCNS will open at 10:30 a.m. The extended day program will run as usual. In the event of a delayed RCNS opening, co-oping parents should be at school by 10 a.m. or find a substitute. Please place your name on the co-op substitute list if you could help on these days.
  • If MCPS closes early, after school programs (e.g., the extended day program) are canceled.
